New Peugeot and off to Fougeres, April 2

We took the Metro to La Defense and then two stops on the tram to get to the Peugeot place.  It only took about half an hour to get there and then about half an hour to lease a brand new, silver car.  Very nice.  We have GPS and programmed it to avoid highways and spent an hour winding our way out of the Paris area right through St Germaine en Laye where we interviewed at an international school when we were at the University of Lancaster.

We drove about 300 kilometers and had lovely sunny weather with the temperature hitting 12 C, which is in the 50s, a nice change.  We are in Fougeres which has a wonderful medieval castle, one of the first we visited when Nick was 7 and Jecca was 5.  We took David here when he was 12 on our way home from our year in Egypt. We checked into the Hotel Balzac, a 2 star hotel which we may have stayed in many years ago.  Then, we walked around the castle and went into the Church of St. Suplice, which has an old statue of the Virgin Mary which was found when excavating in the 12th century.
