A wonderful day of walking in Paris, April 1

Today, it was finally warmish!  yay!
We walked to the Tuileries and to the Orangerie Museum where Monet designed two oval rooms for eight large panels of his garden at Giverny.  They were meant as a place of peace for Parisiens after World War One.  The museum is largely the collection of Paul Guillaume, including works by Renoir, Modigliani, Matisse, Cezanne, Derain and Picasso, many works we had never seen before.  It is not a large museum, so quite manageable.  Then we managed, quite amazingly, to find Higuma, a noodle restaurant on Rue St Anne, where we ate two years ago with Mike, Nancy, Chris, Mike, Michelle and Julie.

After a short rest, we took the Metro and explored the area around the Pompidou Center and into the underground shopping area of Les Halle's where we investigated putting a new sim in my phone, but opted not to so far, especially as no one in the store spoke English.  Then, in the sun, we sat on the banks of the Seine with many hundreds of other people and watched life go by.  Then, we walked back here on Rue du Marche, St Honore where we had another dinner of baguette, Brie and ham.

C'est magnigique!
