Albi to Arles, all back roads April 11

Although we only drove just over 200 kilometers, we were on the road all day.  We left Albi in the sun, we ran into quite a lot of cloud and temperatures fell from 23C to 15C.  We definitely took the scenic route, mostly D999.  We, by pure chance, found ourselves at the base of the biggest bridge in the world, the Pont de Millau.  We bought a baguette, pâté, local cheese and tomato and had a picnic underneath it.  Very impressive.
We drove through some beautiful gorges and mountains and thought a lot about the Tour de France which will visit Albi this summer.

We arrived at Jerry's in Arles  around 4:00. It is an added bonus  that Bob's daughter, Heather, who lives in London, is also visiting for a few days.  Jerry made a hearty chicken stew which we all enjoyed, Jerry, Glenn, Heather and the two of us.  We talked until late, as we are apt to do.
