Dubrovnik has been settled for centuries. Five hundred years ago, it had the third largest Mediterranean navy. The city was quite empty and we walked all over and saw the sites, which are easy to see in an hour or two. We found a little place to eat breakfast which has Internet, which our flat does not have. We had delicious omelettes.
We hiked back up....no easy task and had lunch on our wonderful terrace. In the afternoon, we took another hike, sat and watched the many, many tourists in big groups off cruise ships and busses. Then, we hike back up and Mark cobbled together quite an amazing dinner of chicken and pasta with almost no utensils. There is not even a frying pan.
We are enjoying watching small boats ferrying cruise ship passengers in and put of the old port. The Aegean Odyssey out of Valletta, Malta. The view is endlessly interesting. Plus, the cable car goes close by us up to Mount Srd to a fort built by Napoleon to keep an eye on the town.
