Paris - All's well that ends well...Day 20

After a nice in-flat breakfast that Mark made without blowing any fuses.  Then, we walked all the way from our apartment, down the Rue du Rivoli and over the Pont Neuf to Notre Dame.

We went in and sat down while a Lenten service was going on.

The big event of the day was the arrival of Michelle from Miami.  Mike and Nancy had arranged to meet here at Les Halles Metro.  But, the communication broke down.  Mike and Nancy were waiting inside for about 5 worried hours; Michelle was there for a while before figuring that she needed to find an internet cafe and find out the address of their apartment.  So, tired and a bit scared, she found an internet cafe at quite a distance and then, figured out how to walk to their apartment on Rue Bachaumont.  She got there at 11:30 and sat on the sidewalk with her luggage for about an hour and a half.  Finally, she was discovered by Christina and Mike and Julia and they were able to text Michael and Nancy that she was found....but.....it was difficult, to say the least.

Later, they all went to the Arc d'Triomphe, but Mark and I opted out and to our flat to rest and begin to pack.  We walked to their neighborhood and then out to dinner as a gang of huit!  It was a lot of fun.  Then, we gathered at their apartment until 10 p.m. and walked home.  Our feet are quite tired!  But, the walk home was quintessentially Parisien - people were sitting out at the cafes and bars.  It is something we love about European cities.
