Verona, April 26, 27

After breakfast at 25 Matteoti, we walked to a pharmacy where Barbara was given 10 days of medicine to help with her chest congestion and cough. We checked out and drove, via motorway, to Verona, about 3 hours drive. We felt like we had to take the motorway because of time and because Barbara isn't feeling very well. 29 Euros to the motorway.
We are staying at a farmhouse in Montorio, a few kilometers east of Verona. It has 5 rooms and is modest, but adequate. We went into the edge of Verona to Osteria da Morandin which Mark looked up on either Trip Advisor or Yelp. It was a very unprepossessing place and we sat on the street. It was not in a great neighborhood, but..the food was delicious. Barbara had eggplant parmigiano and Mark had pasta with duck. He had the choice of duck or....donkey. There was also a raw horsemeat dish (tartare) on the menu.
Afterwards we went back to Montorio where we visited another pharmacy to get a duplicate set of medicines in case Mark catches what Barbara has. Then- into a super market for a bit of food and early to bed. (It got to 90 degrees today.)
The next morning, we had an ample breakfast at the farmhouse and went into Verona. We didn't stay very long as we didn't go in the colosseum or the theatre of the churches as we have done quite a lot of that before.
Instead, we wandered. It seems like a very nice city, but, even at an early hour, it had a lot of tourists.
We picked up some food and took it back to the farmhouse where we sat in the yard to eat. As Barbara is still feeling quite under the weather, we spent the afternoon reading/sleeping with a short walk down our road.
