Today we had an errand and catch-up day until mid-afternoon. We did some shopping and did a laundry. (We bought some yummy dates at a grocery store on 50th and Jackson and a lot cheaper than at the touristy Shields Date Farm which we went to on our last visit.)
In mid-afternoon we went to Thermal, about 12 miles from our hotel here. We saw a brochure that there is a multi-week equestrian event which is free to the public except on the weekends. It is called HITS Desert Circuit. Prize money totals $3,000,000. It draws thousands of equestrians to the grounds. So, we drove out there. We didn't quite understand what was going on as far as the scoring and the events we were watching, but it was beautiful to watch.
