On this day, we had a nice fruit cup breakfast at our hotel in Katy, Tx and then drove I-10 for over 300 miles, a rather long day for us. The landscape got drier and drier, but it was a nice traveling day. We stopped at Rudy's Barbecue on the western side of San Antonio where I had a bit of brisket (very good) and Mark had barbecued chicken.

Then, we were back on the road and drove to Sonora, Texas, population 2,999. We stayed at a Choice Hotel again - a good room, but a storm last week had knocked out their internet which was a bummer. We had picked Sonora as our stopping place because it has the Eaton Wildlife Sanctuary. Unfortunately the Nature Center was closed and the walk was pretty uneventful. We drove around the town (short drive!) and found one supermarket which had slim pickings. I had pineapple for dinner and Mark had cheese and ham. There were no organics and no salad fixings really to be had. We got to bed nice and early!
