We mostly just hung around our Mission Beach neighborhood on Saturday, April 2. There was a lot of traffic and a lot of beach-goers, so it seemed to make sense to enjoy the beach, too. We started with our usual morning walk somewhere around the Bay.

At mid-day we did something we very rarely do - we went to the beach, sat and read for a bit under an umbrella. We only lasted about an hour or so, but it was nice, although a bit chilly. (72-74 degrees with a slight wind)
In the evening we joined Frank and Linda at White Sands where we saw
The Big Short which was thought-provoking and depressing, but well done.

The next day, Sunday, we joined Frank and Linda for lunch at White Sands and then drove over to Coronado Island to see Stephen Sondheim's
A Little Night Music at the Coronado Play House which is at a beautiful setting on San Diego Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed the show - a 12-piece orchestra and 15 actors. We are surprised that the community theaters here, with an abundance of talented actors, manage to put out such high quality shows for minimal ticket prices. (We paid only $15 a piece for these through Gold Star.) The high donors are in the $5,000 range. At any rate, it was very well done.

After we dropped Frank and Linda off, we met Michael Maury at his nice apartment in Pacific Beach and then walked to Cafe Europa where we had very good appetizers and excellent conversation.
