October 5 - Museum of Fine Arts and Strolling on a sunny day
We walked to the Musee de Beaux Arts today and spent a few hours there.
Then, we walked back to Rue Merciere and ate at Le Layon, the restaurant below our apartment. Mark has been craving duck and he got his wish. It was flavored with coriander and had artichokes. Barbara had salmon with a light pesto sauce and grilled zucchini. Both meals were very good.
Then we strolled along the river and over one of the bridges along the other side of the Saone which is full and rushing. (In fact, we had hoped to take a river cruise, but the cruise ship moved because of the overfull river.) It was crowded with people enjoying the sun, the food and the shopping.
We walked to our favorite bakery, Les Jacobins, and got a piece of chocolate cake and a muffin. We walked back to a sunny spot on the river and split the cake before going home for an early night as we have an early morning train....and as there will be 20,000+ people running a marathon, we want to be sure that we get a bus rather early to the station.
We walked 4.7 miles today.
